SUMMARY:Leftover Drawing and Paper Lab (Rachael Cole)
DESCRIPTION: \nDo you have stacks of old drawings\, works on paper\, or scrap paper lying around? Want to give a second life to artwork that seemed “unsuccessful” the first time? put all those junk envelopes and colored scraps of paper to use. Maybe your kids have old drawings they are ready to let go of. Those can all become beautiful new objects. \nWe will choose items to create from our discards\, like cut shapes\, collages\, envelopes\, note cards\, beads\, jewelry\, boxes\, and repurposed plastic containers. \nThis is a hands-on experimentation and collaboration for our community. \nThere will be a variety of tools on hand\, including paper bead makers\, box templates\, and clean\, used containers. If there is interest\, we can start a project that continues to build as the summer continues. \nRachael Cole is a third generation WFC community member\, a visual artist and a children’s book author and illustrator. \n

SUMMARY:Summer Social Justice Cinema: To Kill a War Machine"
DESCRIPTION:Produced by Rainbow Collective\, To Kill a War Machine is a raw\, urgent documentary filmed in real time with bodycam footage\, mobile phones\, and first-person narration. It immerses viewers in the chaotic\, high-stakes world of direct action — from 4 a.m. factory raids to tense courtroom battles — led by UK-based Palestine Action against Israeli weapons manufacturer Elbit Systems. The documentary was released just before the House of Commons’s controversial vote to proscribe Palestine Action in the UK. \nEach Sunday night\, join us for volleyball and games on the lawn until sundown. At sundown\, settle down on blankets or outdoor chairs for a summer evening of social justice-themed film screenings you won’t easily find elsewhere. Topical documentaries and resistance narratives centered. Open to WFC guests and the surrounding community. \n
