SUMMARY:Leftover Drawing and Paper Lab (Rachael Cole)
DESCRIPTION: \nDo you have stacks of old drawings\, works on paper\, or scrap paper lying around? Want to give a second life to artwork that seemed “unsuccessful” the first time? put all those junk envelopes and colored scraps of paper to use. Maybe your kids have old drawings they are ready to let go of. Those can all become beautiful new objects. \nWe will choose items to create from our discards\, like cut shapes\, collages\, envelopes\, note cards\, beads\, jewelry\, boxes\, and repurposed plastic containers. \nThis is a hands-on experimentation and collaboration for our community. \nThere will be a variety of tools on hand\, including paper bead makers\, box templates\, and clean\, used containers. If there is interest\, we can start a project that continues to build as the summer continues. \nRachael Cole is a third generation WFC community member\, a visual artist and a children’s book author and illustrator. \n

How can democratic systems and constitutional protections be so quickly eroded? What are grassroots tools that have worked worldwide to counter these measures? Tanya Greene\, the U.S. Program Director at Human Rights Watch\, will offer analysis and lessons from emerging research to inform legal strategies and grassroots resistance organizing. \n
