SUMMARY:Qigong & the Natural World (R. Boscov)
DESCRIPTION:Qigong is an ancient Chinese health maintenance practice\, growing in popularity throughout the western world. Qi (chi) is “life force” or energy and Gong means long time study or cultivation. Qigong is the precursor to Tai Chi and all the martial arts.  It has been noted that a daily practice of qigong may lead to longevity. \nAcupuncturists work with qi to effect healing and promote well-being\, but you can move this energy yourself\, by learning simple movements\, meditation\, breathing practices and self-applied massage\, seated or standing. Qigong is easy\, joyful\, profound\, and deeply satisfying. \nRema Boscov has been practicing Qigong and studying with various Qigong masters for many years\, and teaching since 2007. Teaching Qigong is not a practice where ego reigns. Getting “better” at it leads to personal enrichment\, increased composure\, an ability to focus\, and an accompanying release of calm into the world. Qigong is a connector with the natural world and with each other.  The practice is both energizing and centering. Rema Boscov became certified to teach it so she could pass on the gift. \n \n  \n

SUMMARY:Mutual Aid & Ukrainian Refugee Resettlement (O. Yulikova)
DESCRIPTION:Mutual aid has perhaps never been so important to refugee resettlement in the United States as it is today\, with the drastic cuts to federal funding\, plummeting refugee admissions\, and the broader attacks on asylum seekers and immigrant communities nationwide. Join this conversation with Olga Yulikova and other volunteers and Ukrainian refugees from Olga’s List to learn about successful strategies deployed by the Ukrainian diaspora in Massachusetts to support recent arrivals and adapt to this political moment. \nOlga’s List helps refugees displaced by the Russian invasion of Ukraine in urgent need of assistance\, with a focus on new arrivals in Massachusetts. Primarily by volunteers\, many of whom are refugees themselves and who speak Ukrainian\, the group provides assistance to new refugees and connect them to available resources. \n  \n
