SUMMARY:Peacekeeper Training (Arnie Alpert & Judy Elliot) -- IN-PERSON TRAINING
DESCRIPTION: \nThis two-hour peacekeeper training covers the basic skills needed to effectively operate in a “peacekeeper” role in a protest\, demonstration\, or any other setting where peacekeepers are important to have. The training will go through the role of peacekeepers in these settings and cover de-escalation techniques\, with lots of role play to practicalize and embody the lessons. \nArnie Alpert is the former state coordinator for the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) in NH; he and Judy Elliott bring a lifetime of experience with non-violent direct action\, dating back to the Clamshell Alliance and the Seabrook No Nukes occupations of the 1970s. The training is organized by WFC and hosted by the United Universalist Fellowship of the Eastern Slopes in Tamworth\, NH. \nSpace is limited.
