Our Summer 2025 program is now ended, but we continue to organize in-person and virtual events for our local and extended community, and to promote other local events of interest. We welcome program offers and ideas for both the off-season and looking ahead to Summer 2026: email programs@worldfellowship.org!

Summer Social Justice Cinema: The Legend of the Vagabond Queen of Lagos
10 August @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm
The Legend of the Vagabond Queen of Lagos is a social impact film that is part thriller and part African magical realism, written and directed by a collective of young storytellers from informal settlements across Lagos, and film professionals who lived in Lagos for the years of the film’s story development and production. It tells the story of a young widow raising her son in a waterside informal settlement of Lagos that comes under threat due to a corruption-fueled real estate project. It is a story of individual resilience and community resistance that speaks to the struggles of urban poor around the globe.
Each Sunday night, join us for volleyball and games on the lawn until sundown. At sundown, settle down on blankets or outdoor chairs for a summer evening of social justice-themed film screenings you won’t easily find elsewhere. Topical documentaries and resistance narratives centered. Open to WFC guests and the surrounding community.
