Saturday Afternoons Community conversations. We open spaces for facilitated conversations on issues dividing the left, finding resilience among the horrors of 2024, and sharing hopes/ideas for the future of World Fellowship.

Empowerment to Action on the Climate Crisis

Lynne Cherry is a climate activist, author and illustrator of over thirty nature-themed children’s books including the NY Times best-seller, Under the Kapok Tree, a picture book about the ecological importance of the Amazon rainforest. She has also founded and directed the Center for Children’s Environmental Literature and Young Voices for the Planet, and has produced documentary films which highlight the power the young people have to take action about the climate crisis. Lynne will talk about the actions that she has taken as an individual advocate and as a catalyst to empower others, especially young people, to take action on the climate crisis.
