The Viscera of Our Times (Felice Belle, poet) (Poetry Reading)
24 August @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Felice Belle will read from her debut poetry collection Viscera (Etruscan Press, 2023). Her poems explore—among many things—pandemic isolation, heartbreak and loss, cultural collisions, dreams, and desire. As author Colum McCann writes in the book’s afterword, “These poems get to the heart of the matter…the true viscera, the blood and guts of who we are.”
As a poet and playwright, Felice Belle has performed at the Apollo Theater, Joe’s Pub, TEDWomen, and TEDCity2.0. Her writing has been published in several journals and anthologies including Oral Tradition, The Common, and UnCommon Bonds: Women Reflect on Race and Friendship. Playwriting credits include It Is Reasonable to Expect, We Hold These Truths, and Game On!. She is a lecturer in the low-residency MFA program at St. Francis College and Artists Network Director for the global nonprofit Narrative 4.
