Nature-Writing and Art Workshop (with Rema Boscov)
21 August @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
|Recurring Event (See all)
An event every day that begins at 10:00am, repeating until 21 August , 2026
When you walk on a trail are your thoughts somewhere else? Maybe you stop briefly to identify a plant or notice a heron standing still in a marsh. But to really see, feel, hear, smell, even taste, we need to stop and become a part of place. Join me as we individually find a different spot each session where we observe and record, in words and sketches, enriching our times in nature and then coming together to share. No experience needed; this isn’t about making great art, or mastering poetic prose. It’s an opportunity to connect with nature and to experience the recordings of each of us, coming away with increased appreciation for the natural world and each other. I will provide art materials and offer helpful tips to enhance your writing and drawing. Please bring a notebook and pen for your written observations. I look forward to our experiencing and sharing together.
Rema Boscov is an artist, poet, and journalist who has worked as an artist-in-residence in three of our national parks. She teaches art, writing and nature-observation workshops.
Note: this is a 5 day workshop, convening M-F from 10am to 12pm, with a maximum of 10 participants.
