Bug Camp! (Global Entomology Coalition)
7 July @ 9:00 am - 11 July @ 5:00 pm
Global Entomology Coalition’s Bug Camp at WFC is open to children ages 6-12 (exceptions for slightly younger or older siblings). The camp will be run by Jace Porter of the Global Entomology Coalition, who brings many years of experience leading bug expeditions around the world, together with a three-person team that will enable smaller group adventures. Activities include:
– Learning the tracks & signs of insects – how to find them in your backyard
– Swimming with bugs – Exploring the world of underwater insects
– Learn about insect superpowers: their defenses and adaptations – and observe them in the wild!
– Microscope exploration
– Insects after dark: Attracting interesting bugs to us using a special light
– Create your own insects and demonstrate their behavior
– Insect campfire stories
The camp will be running Monday-Friday, 7-11 July 2025, with a morning and afternoon session each day, as well as some optional evening activities. The camp is open to kids staying at WFC as well as day participants. Children staying at WFC for the duration of the Bug Camp must have an adult guardian or chaperone. The camp’s leader, Jace, hopes to have a group of campers staying in a cluster in the campsites for evening bug-discovery fun — but you’re free to choose your preferred accommodation: Lodging – World Fellowship Center! To make a reservation contact reservations@worldfellowship.org or call (603) 447-2280.
The camp costs $200 per child for the week. Needs-based scholarships may be available (contact us!). Advance registration required. Register here!
